Event Three

  • Ranfurlie Golf Club 825 Cranbourne-Frankston Road Cranbourne, VIC, 3977 Australia (map)

Ranfurlie seamlessly encapsulates the quintessential elements of Sandbelt golf, with its expansive fairways reminiscent of the generous width Alister MacKenzie originally introduced at Royal Melbourne as well as certain sections which are reminiscent of Kingston Heath. The bunkers, too, adhere to the characteristic Sandbelt design ethos – both in their aesthetic and their strategic placement, extending right up to the edges of the greens. A fundamental principle guiding Ranfurlie’s design philosophy is to transform areas other than the central fairway into the preferred vantage points for approaching the greens.

The topography at Ranfurlie can be best described as an open expanse, thoughtfully adorned with native eucalyptus trees. As these indigenous trees continue to grow and mature, they will ensure that the course maintains a harmonious connection with the land it occupies. The soil composition at Ranfurlie is a compelling blend of sandy, rocky, and locally sourced loam, a composition that, through the hard work of our outstanding groundskeeping team, delivers impeccable playing surfaces throughout the year.
